Peatland Protection and Rewetting
I will spend 30 minutes researching the environmental benefits of peatlands and what is being done around the world to conserve and restore them.
Land Sinks

Walkable Cities
I will take a walk for 40 minutes each day and take note of the infrastructure that makes walking more or less enjoyable, accessible, and possible.
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
Reduced Food Waste
I will spend at least 60 minutes learning how to differentiate between sell by, use by, and best by dates.

Trash Clean Up
My school hosts a weekly trash clean up and I want to help clean our campus while also having a positive effect on the environment.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityAfter you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?
Amara Bookheimer 10/20/2023 7:02 AMAfter determining my household carbon footprint, I see that there is different choices that we can make as a family to reduce our carbon footprint. We could eat less meat, and invest in more renewable energy resourses. -
Amara Bookheimer 10/08/2023 6:44 PMMy eco challenge is going great so far. I have attended two trash clean ups and have seen how littering affects the environment and community. I plan on extending my education through ecochallenge and pushing myself to learn more and volunteer more within my community.
