REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Stella Brunk 10/31/2023 11:21 AMI have not heard of silvopasture before now. After learning more about it, I think the biggest advantage is that the cows will be more healthy and we will be able to have more trees. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Stella Brunk 10/30/2023 6:34 PMNow that I know how long foods can actually last, I will do my best to see if foods are actually old, smelling or looking, before I just throw them out. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Stella Brunk 10/30/2023 5:33 PMMy diet has a negative impact on deforestation. My family has some sort of animal at most if not all of our dinners, which means that trees had to be cut down in order to grow their feed. I also have an impact of deforestation because I eat foods that contain palm oil without even knowing it.-
Jeanne Poirier 10/30/2023 7:36 PMThere's you and then your family. Now you know and awareness is huge. You may never change your family, but you can do you! Keep up the good work!

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Stella Brunk 10/24/2023 11:10 AMFor increasing the implementation of passive geothermal heat pumps, lawmakers could pass policies that give tax incentives to building owners. For increasing the number of active geothermal power plants, lawmakers coil earmark money for these large-scale projects -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Stella Brunk 10/06/2023 11:16 AMThey could be installed on cell phone towers, and the tops of some of the taller buildings downtown.
