REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Elsa Clements 10/31/2023 9:03 AMI now know that just because it says best by, it does not mean it is bad. Yogurt for example can be good weeks after the expiration date as long as it has not been opened. -
Elsa Clements 10/30/2023 3:56 PMOnly 2 more days to go. Let's finish this strong! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Elsa Clements 10/30/2023 3:54 PMWho knew there were so many trails by the arboretum. I discovered some new trails while my friend was visiting and will definitely explore more next time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Elsa Clements 10/30/2023 3:52 PMThe city finally paved a walking trail close to my house. It's been so nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air without dealing with the previous mud puddles on the path. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat was the hardest item to reduce using or cut out that is plastic? Did you find a way to do it?
Elsa Clements 10/20/2023 8:57 AMThe hardest thing with kids is not buying single use snacks. It's really hard to eliminate all plastics, but I try to use less by buying items in bulk instead of single serve packaging. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Elsa Clements 10/19/2023 12:13 PMI am trying to eat vegetarian at least a few days a week. I don't miss the meat and feels way healthier to eat more plant based foods. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityAfter you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?
Elsa Clements 10/17/2023 2:34 PMI buy renewable energy, drive an electric car, eat less meat, and use less plastic but there is always more to be done. -
Elsa Clements 10/08/2023 5:17 PMChecked out some new trails near the Arboretum today. Was a beautiful day for a hike.
