Jennifer Daniels 10/24/2023 9:18 AMOne week left in this challenge! Project Drawdown recently posted how food waste reduction is a top high-impact climate action for households and individuals - I didn't realize how much of an impact that can make before this challenge. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/project-drawdown_project-drawdown-has-identified-a-list-of-activity-7117900444739256320-EvRA?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop-

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Jennifer Daniels 10/24/2023 9:15 AMIt can be so easy to overeat or waste food when serving "American sized" portions. I think having smaller portions also helps with eating mindfully as well. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Jennifer Daniels 10/24/2023 9:13 AMIt is good to slow down and eat without distractions - I find that when I do this, I tend to eat less and more slowly which aids in digestion. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Jennifer Daniels 10/16/2023 6:39 AMLess food is wasted when we understand more about food safety. If I'm in doubt, I go to stilltasty.com to check what they have to say. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseClean air, clean water and healthy food are just three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons? How could/does regenerative agriculture positively impact you and your community?
Jennifer Daniels 10/14/2023 8:35 AMAfter watching Common Ground, it's more clear how regenerative agriculture (and no till ag) is critical to reversing climate change. Living where we do, it's so important to understand why this change is critical for other health reasons too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?
Jennifer Daniels 10/10/2023 8:28 PMWe've already changed out most of our light bulbs, and are good about turning off lights when not in use or we are leaving a room. It's time for us to start reducing our passive usage like unplugging more things when not in use.-
