What are some more "Rs" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?

I think refuse is the strongest one that I can apply to myself here, as just avoiding the use of single-use plastics and containers is the most effective way to reduce waste. I've become more mindful on what I purchase, as I try to avoid smaller plastic containers in mass, and when I have to I opt for bigger/bulk containers that ultimately have less plastic

These past few days I've noticed how hot it has been, it has felt like summer when it's October! This really makes me feel the push to do the most I can for this planet!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Well, my household is implementing better water filtration systems, and trying to use minimal water during daily tasks
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I noticed how much my mood changes when I'm around the larger road systems, it's actually really sad to see how grey it is. I wish there was more plants and walking area, as I have a hard time getting around
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

    Chloe Empoliti 10/08/2023 10:15 PM
It seems they can afford it. Our bodies do need proteins, but having a certain amount of meat can have negative effects. I would like to add that some people have medical conditions where eating meat is necessary for them, so be understanding. The culture around meat eating really impacts our planets resources, but it also is so inhumane how our animals are treated
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

I have a hard time being mindful, so this allows me to stop and check-in with my hunger cues. A great way to start intuitively eating!
