REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Mallory Franklin 10/02/2023 3:08 PMRecently, my husband and I traveled to Japan. We walked everywhere. This allowed us to see many areas we wouldn't have otherwise and meet people (local and other tourists) that we'd have missed by Uber-ing/other modes of transit. We've always loved walking as opposed to driving, but life has been hectic for both of us and we haven't been walking much lately. When we got back to the States, I committed to walking in my own community more often. I can honestly say I enjoy walking to get coffee or groceries or jogging to the gym much more than driving those places and I've begun to notice more individuals doing the same (potential walking club candidates??). My favorite activity is to turn on a good audiobook and zone out on a nice walk or jog with my girl Luna.

Mallory Franklin 10/02/2023 10:00 AMWhen my sister first gave me tomato, pepper and other vegetable starters, I didn't think I'd be able to keep them alive. I'm excited to say they have been thriving and I've been able to make entirely homegrown bruschetta, salads and other delicious meals from my backyard. I still have a lot to learn about how to care for these plants, but I'm ready for the journey.
