REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Daniel Gonzalez 10/11/2023 9:53 PMI noticed that I enjoy listening to my friends talk about what they learned in class. Mostly every time I ask my friends about their class I learn something new or have a new perspective on certain concepts. It has also improved my communication skills. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Daniel Gonzalez 10/11/2023 9:49 PMFor me, it was fairly easy as I am not a person who drinks coffee regularly. I also do not like to eat chocolate and mainly stick to fruits, bread, tuna, and other simple foods. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksAre bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?
Daniel Gonzalez 10/11/2023 9:45 PMI have noticed that the popularity of bamboo alternatives has increased in my community. There is also clothing made from bamboo that naturally masks odors, very breathable and durable. Another alternative I have seen is corn husks for plates and baskets -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Daniel Gonzalez 10/11/2023 9:41 PMOne potential spot where microturbines can be installed in my city would be by the surrounding hills and or viewpoints. I live in Hillsboro and as you can guess by the name there are a lot of hills in the area away from people. This is convenient as wind turbines make lots of noise. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhat was the most interesting thing to learn about sustainable aquaculture practices?
Daniel Gonzalez 10/11/2023 9:33 PMSince agriculture has the largest production of methane, sustainable aquaculture is another alternative for food as it produces less greenhouse gas emissions
