  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

People in richer countries eat more meat than those in other places because they can afford eat, and, in a way, meat symbolizes wealth. Eating more meat negatively affects our bodies because of the saturated fat which can raise blood pressure. Eating more meat also takes land away from the environment to house animal agriculture, which is one of the main sources of water pollution.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

My transportation choices pollute the air with every mile driven and walking to the store instead reduces the percentage of greenhouse gas emissions released in the area. Walking is better than driving anyway because I get to take in the environment around me, it's is a form of exercise, and it can be very therapeutic.
