What are your next steps for saving energy?

As I have mentioned my housing situation is a little odd as I live with 28 other people and overall do not have a ton of control over the house. One way I could assist is by suggesting we change our temperature settings to be a little warmer/cooler to save some energy. Also ensuring we turn off our lights each night because even if we don't pay a true electricity bill our environment does and most of the lights are not LED.

How close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?

While researching climate friendly supermarkets I was disappointed to see the nearest climate friendly supermarket was an hour and a half away in Portland area. There are so many college students in the town of Corvallis that have to grocery shop it's unfortunate there is not an option within reasonable distance. One way grocers could reduce their use of HFC refrigerants would be by treating leaks as urgent matters and getting those fixed immediately.

    Electricity
After you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?

One of the largest areas my household produces carbon dioxide from would be food waste. I live in a sorority house with 28 other girls and our chef can't always estimate ow much we all will eat so it causes a lot of waste. Something personally I have tried to do is eat our leftovers instead of making more food I attempt to eat what we have already.

    Transportation
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

While walking you can meet members of your community you wouldn't otherwise see. For example the past few mornings while walking home from class I saw my roommate from last year who I haven't seen since move-out.

Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

I found that eating my food without the distraction of my phone lead me to be more mindful on how much I was eating. I noticed I was full earlier than I may have with my phone.
