Plastic is so ubiquitous and familiar that it's amazing how often I don't even notice it. For instance, I recently attended a documentary on climate change at a local theater and it was 1/2 way through the film when I looked down and recognized that the beverage I purchased at the snack counter was in a plastic bottle. Goodness, did I feel guilty!! I'm thankful for this action because it brings the "unnoticed ordinary" back into focus.
