    This past week I bought plane tickets for my trip home (LEX-MKE) for Thanksgiving break. I went back today and researched the carbon offset program with American Airlines. They work with the nonprofit "Cool Effect" to calculate tonnes of carbon emitted per certain flights and the carbon offsets for each flight by miles. My flight is only 390 miles and 1.5 hours long so my carbon offset was calculated at $14.73 which I then bought.
