REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Lucy Koerber 10/31/2023 11:23 AMI have never heard of this term before (silverpasture). After learning more about it I think the biggest advantage is that the cows would be healthier if you had a silver pasture. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Lucy Koerber 10/30/2023 5:33 PMMy diet is very bad for the planet. My diet is very unhealthy. I eat way too many foods that have palm oil. I can improve my diet by switching to eat more plant based food choices and using or trying to use an alternative oil while baking.-
Jeanne Poirier 10/30/2023 7:24 PMDon't chastise yourself too badly. If you are attempting vegetarian/vegan - it's huge. Palm oil is literally in so many of our food items and so hard to avoid. Kudos to have awareness about it. Seaweed may provide alternative to palm oil - so stay tuned and thanks for being here. The honesty is refreshing!

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Lucy Koerber 10/24/2023 11:12 AMFor increasing the implementation of passive geothermal heat pumps, lawmakers could pass policies that give tax incentives to building ownersFor increasing the number of active geothermal power plants, lawmakers could earmark money for these large- scale projects.
