REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Victor Perez 10/24/2023 7:37 PMI have been noticing heavier presence of Tri-Met workers on the max lines. A few months ago is when it started and ever since i'd say maybe may or june of this year they've just always been there. I think this is good because it makes the max a bit safer and discourages fare evasion which I'm not sure about but im assuming the fare is used for good things like maintaining the public transportation systems. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityHad you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!
Victor Perez 10/15/2023 8:08 PMI have been looking into more sustainable ways of living for quite some time now and have just barley found out about the potential of biomass. there's a lot of articles explaining the idea of using biomass to generate power but I've found youtube videos to be the most informative.
there seems to be a small company that sells these biog gas systems for individual implementation that aren't insanely expensive. from what I've seen they go for just a few thousand dollars.
While thousands of dollars isn't cheap by any means, I consider it to a good investment since your heating bill could be reduced a considerable amount sort of like installing solar.
P.S.- theres a really good youtube channel that goes over lots of sustainable solutions made by people all over the world. He reviews the good and bad of these solutions so it's pretty un-biased and allows room for you to come to your own conclusion. its called "undecided with matt ferrel" -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Victor Perez 10/13/2023 11:07 PMon my daily walks I have noticed a foul smell coming from 82nd and powell through 82 and holgate. I'm not sure what it is or why it's most noticeable in that section of 82nd but it's really unpleasant. I have enjoyed seeing all the little things in the world and how it all comes together. I'm not sure about the infrastructure changes though since wherever I walk there is either a side walk, chosen path, or bike lane.
