Tiffani Sandoval Rodriguez 10/31/2023 11:22 PMThis challenge was fun! More specifically I enjoyed the "Kiss the Ground" documentary. It is so enlightening to see how soil represents life through all those microorganisms that provide earth nutrients. It is a cycle in which humans play a huge role. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseClean air, clean water and healthy food are just three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons? How could/does regenerative agriculture positively impact you and your community?
Tiffani Sandoval Rodriguez 10/31/2023 11:12 PMOther reasons include to see a future generation enjoying a clean environment. To get people out of poverty and to provide others with the right knowledge to take care of others through small steps. Regenerative agriculture positively impacts me and my community by allowing me to enjoy healthy air, land, and food. In my community, I hope it will reduce food waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildingsCities and towns need to plan for climate change. How can your city or town make its climate action plans equitable and socially just?
Tiffani Sandoval Rodriguez 10/31/2023 1:03 PMMy city or town can make its climate action plans equitable and socially just by considering what are the needs of the people and how they can be balanced with inclusivity. For example, adding wheelchair ramps in each side sidewalk corner. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksWhat are the multiple benefits of community gardens, including carbon sequestration? Why do these benefits matter to you?
Tiffani Sandoval Rodriguez 10/31/2023 12:50 PMThe multiple benefits of community gardens, including carbon sequestration include a safe place where one can focus and improve one's mental health. When I volunteered, we cleared the path so people in wheelchairs could also enjoy it. These benefits matter to me because this is my community and I take my family and friends there. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Tiffani Sandoval Rodriguez 10/31/2023 12:43 PMMicroturbines could be installed on the outskirts of my town. There is plenty of flat terrain with no tall obstacles nearby. There might also be more wind our in the rural area. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand SinksHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Tiffani Sandoval Rodriguez 10/17/2023 1:11 PMMy transportation choices affect my engagement in my community by making me more grumpy or making me keep my distance because I sweat when I bike. I tend to keep my distance from others because I end up feeling uncomfortable for the rest of the day.
