REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricityGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
David Schimick 10/24/2023 8:08 AMFor passive geothermal, lawmakers can give property owners incentive, like tax credits which will reduce the money they spend out of pocket to get geothermal installed in their buildings.
For active geothermal energy, lawmakers can pass policies that help businesses pay for large scale active geothermal power plants to be built. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
David Schimick 10/20/2023 10:07 AMrich countries eat meat more because there are more factories that kill the animals and plant food is easier to make. eating meat affects the planet because animals go down in population, and more carbon is going into the atmosphere. -
