Saw this post "How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?" and thought it was a good way to remember to use your ingredients as I always forget about some of the stuff I have until it goes bad.

Eggs used to always make me leery of going past the date on the carton, but you can do the "float test" to determine if they're still good. I've "saved" some eggs from the trash that might have otherwise been thrown out by doing the test.

Came across a post that made me think about what challenges we face in the environment. It made me think about how some states/country are scarce in water supply and we need to do our part in not visiting those states/country for vacation

Don’t forget that buying some used things might be better than something new! Help re-use instead of causing more waste!

Saw a post that the average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. I think I am a victim who actually spends more than that a year but wanted to remind people that some ad's from Fred Meyers and Safeway comes out on Tuesdays for possible deals. I know a lot of people don't have the storage space but for those who do, I shop for deals with meat and other items with great deals and buy them in bulk and store them.

I know a lot of people don't like this but I am doing my early Christmas shopping and when wrapping gifts, for my boyfriend or for people who don't care about how nice things look on the outside, I use all the scraps from wrapping other gifts and compile them together to wrap a new gift. For some people, they find it funny and it's a good laugh!

Just a random thought coming across this online but a good way to help reduce use of cleaning products that is hazardous to our environment is making sure we take off our shoes before entering our home to reduce tracking in dirt. Went to a Halloween party where almost everybody was wearing shoes and I can just see dirt everywhere.

This can also take the form of keeping a pair of house slippers at the door, and consistently change outside shoes for these slippers (I have sever peripheral neuropathy in my feet and cannot go with some form of shoe/slipper). But I like this idea! and need to work on doing this, especially as I do alot of gardening.

With Christmas coming up in a couple of months, I wants to let Starbucks lovers know to keep an eye out for promotions they do. I got a reusable Christmas cup about a couple of years ago from buying a seasonal drink and they gave me a reusable cup for free that I use constantly.
