REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseHave you ever had a significant experience in nature that altered your perspective or focus? If so, please describe it.
TRACY TESTERMAN 10/25/2023 6:33 AMI have tried to grow a vegetable garden many times, with very little success. This Spring/Summer, as part of our Summer of You in the Virtual Development Network, I challenged myself to try yet again and voila! Success! In a big way - we have been eating tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers out of our garden for months now -- and still going! We even grew our own pumpkins for the front porch. This will now be a tradition for my husband and I. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
TRACY TESTERMAN 10/25/2023 6:31 AMI love observing nature and the beauty of it while I'm walking. I also am thoroughly enjoying walking with my husband, taking that "we time" for us to talk about our days and plan our future. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
TRACY TESTERMAN 10/09/2023 2:35 PMDon't litter and pick up any trash we see around as we walk on the beaches or river trails. Don't pour chemicals into the street or gutters. Don't use winterizing chemicals on sidewalks. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
TRACY TESTERMAN 10/09/2023 2:33 PMAnother benefit of smaller portions is filling up over time and Losing weight!
