The sidewalks in corvallis are mostly fine but the one right by my house has some super steep angles created by old tree roots or something which can be quite the hazard with all the recent rain. If the sidewalks were replaced in some areas, people might be more encouraged to walk.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

I honestly like a long roadtrip, which while being bad for the environment is something I will always appreciate. When it comes to short trips around corvallis though, I have been walking as much as possible and I do enjoy it a lot. It helps that I throw my headphones on and listen to music.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

Id use this money to buy a cf burkheimer fly rod assuming my tuition is already paid in full.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
In North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?

I actually started doing this this week. All of my extra parts from my vegetables are now going into my compost which will be used in my garden at home.
