  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

Healthier diets. Just in my first meal I thought about what foods I could eat that would fill me up and be the healthiest. I found myself pickings greens over greasy foods. If I continue to eat this way I'm sure to see a change in my body as I am eating less but much more healthy food.

How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

A best if used by date indicates when a product will be of best flavor or quality. A sell by date tells the store how long to display the product for sale.

I found it very interesting that more than half of the world's seafood comes from aquaculture.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

People eat more meat in richer countries because the quality is much better and there is more variety of meats to choose from. Meat production affects our planet greatly, contributing to the release of greenhouse gases including carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide.
