October 30 at 1:01 PMI've been on vacation and haven't been posting regularly. However, this challenge has made me more conscious of my carbon footprint and the effect I have on my environment.

October 30 at 12:57 PMI was in Delaware for 2 weeks and went to the beach at least 1xday. I noticed a difference in the depth of the beach from when I've been there in the past. The hurricanes we have had over the past several months has really impacted the width of the beach. The town had increased the size of the dunes in order to protect the properties. There is...

October 27 at 9:44 AMI've really enjoyed the opportunity to witness the changing seasons and appreciate the public trails in my area. When walking in the more residential areas, additional sidewalks might improve the safety/walkability of those parts of town.

October 18 at 8:24 AMYes, I think the most attainable and immediate ways for me to reduce my carbon footprint include decreasing my daily intake of meat and food waste, rethinking my shopping habits (especially clothing), and being better about recycling, reusing, etc. effectively.

October 18 at 7:54 AMI started sharing produce with friends and family in the hopes of eliminating food waste. Sharing is caring!!

October 15 at 12:08 PMThe strawberries I selected make me miss the strawberries of spring/summer. 😔 I washed the rest of them up and froze them for a smoothies. No food waste here!!!

October 12 at 9:05 AMI feel we always operate at our best when we're equipped with the most information. Knowing the lay of the land, what grows in your neighborhood and what can be beneficial for you or harm you, is an invaluable resource for not only our appreciation for our surroundings but for our survival. Eat the wrong mushroom and it could be lethal. While...

October 12 at 9:00 AMWhile I was pleased to see my total carbon footprint for a month is half of what the average American household's is, I do see areas where I'd be able to reduce it even more so. I already eat 90% plant based but can do better with truly cutting out all dairy. I sometimes fall asleep with my light on so I can endeavor to do better with that. I...

October 11 at 1:32 PMFeel like I'm doing better so far this week with less food waste so far!
